Veterans Memorial Relocation Design

On July 17, 2024, Friends of the Public Square and Starr Whitehouse hosted a meeting with representatives of the VFW and the American Legion to present the proposed design for the repositioning of the Veterans Memorial in the park. Currently the memorial is almost hidden from view and inaccessible for anyone with mobility constraints.

The memorial will be re-positioned to a place of prominence on Warren Street and will be accessible to all. The representatives of the VFW and the American Legion were enthusiastic about the proposed design, and it will be officially incorporated into the plan.

The memorial will be moved by a firm specializing in such moves.
